Rihanna - Drink To That Analysis 2
The reason for analyzing this video is because it was a pop video but it went against the normal pop conventions and followed the convention of a Hip-Hop/Rnb video, with Rihanna performing in-front of a large crowd and then cutting to scenes of her enjoying herself, on a journey, in different countries (The same as Lupe Fiasco - As the Show Goes On) it showed her to be the same as a Hip-Hop/Rnb artist.

Little confused as to which genre you are trying to recreate- hip hop or R&B- the research task requires you to analyse music videos from the same genre as yours and/or combined with similar videos to the style and content as yours. You are welcome to analyse a genre dissimilar to yours just as long as you make any comparisons clear, why you thought it would be beneficial and what have you learnt from your findings and possible how you might use your findings.
ReplyDeleteSlide 4 - only a single generic characteristic identified!!! equally there is no evidence that your claims comes as a result of having collected detailed findings prior to you blogging your single claim.
Slide 5 - Must use terms as suggested by Goodwin, more care needed into chosen screen grabs.
Slide 6 - claim but no evidence provided. More marks would be awarded if efforts were made to explain how production choices appeal to target audience and helping in the marketing of the artist and track
Eye contact with camera?!!!! not a non media term- Try and write like a media student using correct media terms including technical directions. Similar to Yr12 analyse task... the examiner expects you to carry out an analyse which looks at how individual and combined film techniques are used and to what result - in terms of marketing the artist and audience appeal/pleasure. Again try to use Goodwin's headings and research findings.

Take a good look at my comments and examples provided on this blog. A sound start but improve the above 2 analyse and complete 2-3 more to secure a minimum of level 3.
